Jeremy Lin (below) hasn't been on the court for the Knicks, but maintains a close relationship with his fans via Twitter.
INDIANAPOLIS Jeremy Lin took to Twitter to thank the New York media for its coverage of the cultural phenomenon known as Linsanity.
Thanks to the NY media and Knicks beat writers for all your hard work in getting information/stories to the fans, Lin tweeted from his hospital bed early Tuesday. Goodnight.

It was an unexpected show of gratitude from the second-year guard out of Harvard, who had surgery Monday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Of course, when teammate Tyson Chandler heard what Lin had done, the veteran center joked, He was drugged.
I spoke to Jeremy before the surgery, Chandler added. He was a little drugged up yesterday so he was random texting people. There were a (few) little drunken texts. I didnt fall victim to that. Ill reach out to him today when he should be a little more sober.
Lin was criticized for avoiding the media Friday in Atlanta after coach Mike Woodson revealed that the guards knee injury could keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The following day, Lin explained that he hadnt wanted to address his condition for the previous few days because he hadnt decided whether to have surgery now or after the season.
Lin also admitted that the previous Monday an MRI had revealed a torn meniscus in his left knee. The s everity of the injury was withheld from the press for five days and the Knicks listed Lin as day-to-day even though Lin said a decision had been made by the medical staff to wait five to seven days before deciding on when to have surgery.
During those five days, the Knicks played two home games, one of which was on March 28, the deadline for season-ticket holders to subscribe for the playoffs.
The Knicks now say that Lin will be out at least six weeks, although Woodson said on Tuesday that he is hoping for a quick recovery.
I spoke to him right after he had (surgery), Woodson said. Everything went well. He was a little under the anesthesia. Hes looking forward to getting back as soon as possible. I told him to think positive and make sure he does his rehab, thats important. If he does it right he has a chance to come back fairly quickly.
The news on Amare Stoudemire and his injured back is more encouraging. The power forward is traveling with the team, which makes sense since he lives outside of Orlando, where the Knicks play on Thursday. Tuesday night, Stoudemire was on the floor an hour before tipoff and took 100 free throws.
He stood at the foul line in a hoodie in honor of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black teenager killed by a community watch coordinator in Sanford, Fla. The shooting has sparked national outrage.
Stoudemire has not addressed his injury since it was revealed on March 26 that he was suffering from a bulging back disc. The Knicks originally determined that Stoudemire would be out indefinitely. But after the veteran power forward received an epidural shot for his injury, the Knicks announced that Stoudemire would be out two to four weeks.
Woodson, though, is remaining optimistic that Stoudemire will return to the lineup this month sooner than later.
You never know, Woodson said on Tuesday. Hes back getting treatment now. He will be with us now, on the bench possibl y. All we can do with him is take it a day at a time and see where he is physically. If he comes back and tells me hes ready to play, then hell be back in uniform and (well) get him back on the floor.
