Lane Garrison is facing one count of misdemeanor battery for allegedly striking his girlfriend in the lobby of her Beverly Hills apartment last weekend.
Former Prison Break actor Lane Garrison was charged Thursday with roughing up a Playboy Playmate he dated.
Garrison, 31, is facing one count of misdemeanor battery for allegedly striking Ashley Mattingly, Miss March 2011, in the lobby of her Beverly Hills apartment last weekend, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office said.
The problem-prone actor is on parole for a 2007 vehicular manslaughter conviction and is due in court Friday for arraignment, prosecutors said.
Garrison allegedly struck Mattingly as the two were exiting an elevator, prosecutors said.
His lawyer claims surveillance footage shows the actor did not intend any harm.
What happened is he was reaching for the cell phone, and on the video, though it first appeared he was hitting her, if you look at it pretty carefully, you can see the hand going toward the cell phone, lawyer Harland Braun told the Daily News.
Garrison is being held without bail due to the potential parole violation.
When witnesses allegedly approached the pair, Garrison ran from the building, prosecutors said.
Mattingly said Garrison hit her out of vengeance.
He didnt want me to break up with him, she told TMZ. I tried to several times, but hes just like one of those leeches, who latches on.
She said he had turned violent before, and this time she pursued charges.
Enough is enough, she said.
If convicted, he faces up to one year in county jail and a $ 2,000 fine.
