Darren Mackie: Hoping to earn a new deal at Aberdeen

Aberdeen striker Darren Mackie is desperate to help his side reach the Scottish Cup final as he looks to earn himself a new deal at Pittodrie.

The Dons meet Hibernian in the semi-finals on Saturday lunchtime, with their sights set on a decider against either Celtic or Hearts, who face off the following day.

Mackie, who is out of contract at the Scottish Premier League club in the summer, will be out to impress if manager Craig Brown hands him a chance against Hibs.

The 30-year-old told the Daily Record: "It would be huge for the city and the club if we could get to the final and we'll be going all out to achieve that.

"I'm stil l waiting to hear about my future. I love this club and want to stay but it's the manager's decision."

Mackie has spent his entire senior career at Aberdeen since joining 14 years ago, save for a short loan spell at Inverness in 2004.
