When one of them is Meryl Streep and the other is Kevin Kline its the summers hottest ticket. Priciest, too $ 1,500 a pop and up.
On June 18, the Sophies Choice stars will play another doomed duo in a staged reading of Romeo and Juliet t o celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Public Theaters Shakespeare in the Park series.
The evening at the open-air Delacorte Theater will also toast the career of Al Pacino, who put his stamp on The Merchant of Venice in the park in 2010.
R&J will mark Streeps sixth performance at the Delacorte and Klines tenth. Together, they appeared in The Seagull and Mother Courage and her Children.
A limited number of free stand-by tickets will be available on the day of the event. Expect people to start lining up and camping out today.
