In the early-season meeting between the Wildcats and Cardinals, Anthony Davis leads Kentucky to a 69-62 win on New Yearâs Eve at Rupp Arena.
With both Louisville and Kentucky in the Final Four theres a lot of talk about how that rivalry not Duke-North Carolina is the most intense in college hoops, and n ow there is evidence to back up that claim.
Two patients at a Georgetown, Ky., dialysis clinic got into a scuffle Tuesday over the Final Four matchup that pits the U of L Cardinals against the top-seeded Wildcats, Lexingtons WKYT-TV reported.
When one of the patients at the Georgetown Dialysis Clinic started yapping about how Louisville will beat UK which is located in Lexington, Ky., about a 11 miles south of Georgetown a die-hard Kentucky fan had heard enough and the two exchanged heated words.
I didnt talk to him about the ball game, I was talking to another guy about the game, said Charles Taylor, the Louisville fan in this Bluegrass State battle. He was meddling. And told me to shut up and gave me the finger!
Taylor then approached Kentucky fan Ed Wilson, who was hooked up to a dialysis machine, and slugged him.
Taylor admitted striking Wilson, saying (I) didnt hit him that hard, before local police were called to the scene.
"I think this is a first at a dialysis center," Lt. Robert Swanigan told WKYT.
Wilson says he has forgiven Taylor, but isnt looking forward to seeing him at the clinic any time soon.
Hopefully, he wont come at the same time as me anymore.
Kentucky is an 8.5 point favorite over No. 4 Louisville in the first of Saturdays two national semifinal games in New Orleans.
