Anthony Weiner arrives to a June 2011 press conference where he announced his decision to resign from Congress after being embroiled in a sex scandal linked to his lewd online exchanges with women. The former congressman, known for his aggressive style, once cornered President Obama to barrage him with âadvice,â according to a new book.
The President played prophet.
Two years before Rep. Anthony Weiners stunning fall from grace, the Congressman cornered President Obama on Air Force One on a flight from New York and gave him some unsolicited advice on health care reform, according to a new book.
The President kindly declined - and, with a smile, made a prediction.
Enjoy your last ride on Air Force One, Obama said, according to Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives, by Robert Draper .
And while it wa s unclear if that was Weiners final trip on the Presidents private plane, his days in office were numbered.
Weiner, who resigned last June after a sexting scandal, appointed himself one of the Democratic partys leading spokesmen on health care in 2009.
He would frequently enter his office and scream Why the f--- am I not on MSNBC? according to the book.
But he actually appeared on TV so much that he started carrying around his own makeup kit, according to Drapers book.
