Crime scene officers investigate scene of homicide in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
A young man on his way home from work was shot dead by a robber in a quiet Bronx neighborhood early Thursday, police and family said.
Cops are searching for the gunman who killed Hwang Yang, 26, moments after he left the subway in Kingsbridge at 12:30 a.m.
Yang was on 232nd St. when a ma n approached him and tried to rob him at gunpoint, police sources said.
It is unclear if Yang resisted, but the thug pumped a round into the victims chest and then calmly walked over to his body, turned him over, rifled through his pockets and snatched an iPhone, a source said.
Yang, who works at a Manhattan restaurant, was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital but could not be saved.
Jun Lee, the victims distraught uncle, said, He was very young, very young.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating.
