We're looking forward to another big political clash tonight in Washington -- at the hockey rink.
The National Hockey League playoff series between the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins is spiced up by the fact that Bruins goalie Tim Thomas is an outspoken Tea Party member and critic of President Obama.
So naturally some Capitals fans wore Obama masks and waved pro-Obama signs at Thomas during Monday's game at the Verizon Center, a mere nine blocks from Obama's residence at the White House.
"Hey Tim!," read one sign with Obama's picture. "I Totally Printed This Using Tax Payer $ $ $ $ !!"
Thomas made headlines in January when he boycotted a White House ceremony to honor the Bruins' 2011 Stanley Cup championship.
"I believe the federal government has grown out of control, threatening the rights, li berties, and property of the people," Thomas said at the time.
This week, Thomas has been photographed in town holding a Ron Paul for President bumper sticker.
So far, Thomas is getting the last laugh on the ice.
The Bruins won Monday night's game, and lead the best-0f-seven series two games to one.
The Caps and their Obama backers face a crucial match tonight.
