New reports have suggested Nokia has pushed back the UK release date of the eagerly awaited Windows Phone powered Lumia 900 as high demand in the US results in reduced stock levels.
Whilst the Finnish phone manufacturer had failed to previously offer a UK arrival time for the Lumia 800 follow-on beyond Q2 2012, the company has now suggested the handset will land a little later than planned despite confirming a May 14th release.
Nokia Lumia 900 Release Date
Confirmed as landing with a period of exclusivity to retailer Phones4U, the Nokia Lumia 900 was originally pegged to hit stores on April 27th with Nokia now suggested that due to overwhelming demand the companys latest Windows Phone hand set will now land later than expected.
With stock shortages reported to have a small knock-on effect on product availability in the UK, a Nokia spokesperson has now confirmed the Lumia 900 is now expected to be available from Phones4U around the 14th May. They added: We are doing everything we can to fulfil demand.
Nokia Lumia 900 Features
A larger version of the already available Nokia Lumia 800 the Lumia 900 features a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display with Microsofts Windows Phone Mango OS further plumped by a 1.4GHz processor and a host of Nokia exclusive WP7 apps including Nokia Drive.
On the entertainment front the handset boasts an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities and, unlike the Lumia 800, a second, front-facing snapper.
