CBS newsman Mike Wallace, who helped make 60 Minutes the most successful prime-time television news program ever, has died, the Associated Press reported. He was 93.
Wallace died Saturday night, CBS spokesman Kevin Tedesco said. On CBS' Face the Nation, host Bob Schieffer said Wallace died in New Haven, Conn.
He was known for his famous interviews, including one with Malcolm X.
The announcer, whose career spanned 60 years, was born on May 9, 1918, in Brookline, Mass.
