Mel Gibson is reportedly discussing a deal to join the cast of the sequel to âMachete.â
Mel Gibson apparently still hasn't run out of second chances.
The 56-year-old actor is in talks to join the cast of director Robert Rodriguezs sequel to 2010s Machete despite the actor's most-recent meltdown caught on tape, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gibson is still reeling f rom the release of audio apparently taped by screenwriter Joe Eszterhas teen son during a trip to Gibson's Costa Rican home in December. On the recording, Gibson can be heard screaming at Eszterhas about the lack of progress on the script for "The Maccabees."

The recording features Gibson ranting at the top of his lungs about Eszterhas unfinished script for their joint film project
I am earning money for a filthy little cer who takes advantage of me, Gibson screams in the clip, apparently referring to the mother of his daughter, Oksana Grigorieva.
The screenwriter released a public letter to Gibson, accusing the star of not being sincere about making the movie, about a Jewish rebel army from the Old Testament, but going through the motions "to deflect continuing charges of anti-Semitism."
The reason you wont make The Maccabees is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews, Eszterha s wrote.
It's just the latest ignominy to haunt Gibson. Grigorieva famously released another one of his recorded rants in 2010, which included threats and racial slurs. That came four years after Gibson launched into an anti-Semitic tirade when a police officer pulled him over during a DUI arrest.
While many Hollywood insiders pronounced Gibson's career over after his latest public humiliation, Rodriguez attended the Austin, Texas, premiere of Gibson's latest movie, Get the Gringo, which is going straight to video on demand.
Machete Kills will bring back Danny Trejo's titular buttkicker, who's now charged with "taking down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space, Rodriguez recently told Deadline.com.
