Juan Mata: Chelsea midfielder has big ambitions for club and country over the next few months

Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata is eyeing up success on all fronts this season for club and country.

The Spain international is preparing to face Tottenham in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, one of two trophies Chelsea remain in the hunt for.

The Blues have also reached the last four of the UEFA Champions League, in which they will face Barcelona, while Mata also has aspirations for glory with Spain.

The World Cup holders are favourites to retain the European Championships this summer, but Mata has also set his sights on competing at the London Olympics.

"I want to win as much as I can - the FA Cup, the Champions League, the Euros and the Olympics - everything," the 23-year-old told The Sun.

"I have to speak to Chelsea about playing at the Olympics but I think there is enough time for me to rest and recover."

Tottenham

For now, though, Mata is focused on Chelsea's next hurdle, but he is not taking the threat of Tottenham lightly ahead of their Wembley meeting.

"This semi-final against Tottenham is huge for us," he added.

"We've drawn both games against Tottenham in the league this season, so it will not be easy. They have many players at a great level. But so do we.

"Maybe a month ago they were in a better position and we weren't doing so well. Now we're in a good moment and we have to show that at Wembley.

"The FA Cup is a special competition and we want to be back at Wembley for the final next month.

"I played there for Spain in November. We killed England but we lost 1-0. But what an unbelievable stadium."
