Sergio Aguero: Missed Man City's last two games with a mystery foot injury
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini hopes Sergio Aguero will be fit to return to action against Arsenal next weekend.
Aguero has missed City's last two games against Stoke and Sunderland with a mystery foot injury and his absence has been sorely felt as title-chasing City have dropped four points.
Mancini is unhappy with the nature of Aguero's injury and believes they would have beaten Sunderland if the Argentine was fit to play.
"If Sergio had played we would have won this game - I'm 200 per cent certain of this and for that reason, it's really disappointing that he couldn't play." < br />Roberto Mancini on Sergio AgueroQuotes of the week
"If Sergio had played we would have won this game - I'm 200 per cent certain of this and for that reason, it's really disappointing that he couldn't play," said Mancini.
"I hope we can have him for the next game."
Denial
Mancini said it was "not true" that Aguero suffered the problem after slipping on a child's toy and rejected claims that the injury had been caused by a reaction to a spray that had subsequently been applied to his foot.
"It is a stupid injury, but not his fault," added Mancini.
"I am really disappointed with what has happened to him."
