Frank Lampard: More concerned with dropping two points than reaching a landmark 150 Premier League goals

Frank Lampard took little joy in becoming the first midfielder to score 150 Premier League goals after Chelsea failed to win at Fulham.

Lampard reached the landmark when he put the Blues ahead from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.

But Clint Dempsey's header eight minutes from time ensured a 1-1 draw in the west London derby, leaving Chelsea two points adrift of Tottenham and Newcastle in the race for the final Champions League spot.

Asked how this latest personal achievement felt, the 33-year-old said: "Not too good at the minute. It feels like a little b it of a loss."

"They'll be nice when I look back and I'm an old man.

"But I just can't enjoy them after we didn't get the three points.

"I'm pleased to try to help the team and score goals. Landmarks are great.

Final

"But, at the present time and with the position we're in in the league, every league game is a final for us and we want to be winning them."

Spurs' 2-1 home defeat to Norwich earlier in the day had presented Chelsea with a chance to move level on points with Harry Redknapp's side in the race for fourth.

Asked if this was a wasted opportunity, Lampard said: "It was because they lost obviously and we wanted to win to close the gap.

"We have to count our blessings that we closed the gap on Tottenham but we're disappointed that we didn't close it more."
