Gladys Knight with Tristan MacManus on 'Dancing With the Stars.'
Dancing with the Stars went Motown this week but Gladys Knight earned the evenings lowest scores.
But what the Empress of Soul lacked in technical skill on the dance floor, she more than made up for in charisma, a beaming Len Goodman proclaimed.
Gladys, if I could judge purely with my heart, youd be at the top of my leaderboard, the head judge said.

The singers can-do attitude rubbed off on several of her competitors, however. Melissa Gilbert, who took a nosedive and suffering a minor concussion last week, climbed her way back up the scoreboard.
It could be worse, you could have an ugly partner, her stubborn dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy joked after the two duked it out in the rehearsal studio.
Or, in dance pro Cheryl Burkes case, a partner so good-looking that the judges cant get past discussions about his face and body.
William Levy took home a 10 from Bruno this week after heating up the dance floor with a sensual rumba aided by the singing of Motown legend Smokey Robinson.
William, that was absolutely utter filth, Bruno Tonioli began, almost ignoring Burke, and I loved every minute of it. You two are wired for sex.
Goodman was not amused.
Calling Levys dance a bit on the raunchy side, the older judge got up at one point to thrust his own hips to make a po int only to find himself the butt of a Viagra joke.
Maria Menounos and her partner and rumored beau Derek Hough, meanwhile, toned down their own raunchiness, opting for a fun foxtrot to Martha Reeves hit Jimmy Mack.
Youre so precise, just like the edge of a diamond, judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised the Extra host.
It was golden girl Katherine Jenkins who once again took home the top scores of the night, however, earning an extra 10 points for outlasting the competition in a marathon dance in addition to two 10s and a 9 from Goodman.
Donald Driver and Jaleel Whites funktastic takes on the foxtrot and the cha cha, respectively, pulled in high scores for them as well.
Driver walked away with straight 9s, and White managed to squeak in right behind Jenkins with two 10s and a 9.
Joining Robinson in performing live on the Dancing With the Stars stage this week were Reeves and Motown legends The Temptations.
