Gladys Knight performs with partner Tristan MacManus on 'Dancing With the Stars.'
Despite a strong showing on Monday night's Motown-themed "Dancing With the Stars," Gladys Knight couldn't hang with the cool cats and was sent packing Tuesday.
Knight, who paid homage to classics sung by her peers The Temptations and Smokey Robinson, was still all smiles as she learned of her fate.
"I am so just amazed at this journey," she told an appreciative audience. "It's been ab solutely extraordinary."
Though the legend won head judge Len Goodman's praises for her routine Monday, Knight found herself dancing a jive to save her spot on the dance floor in a dance duel against Disney star Roshon Fegan.
"Make it or break it, tonight is it," she intoned prior to the pair's dance-off.
Fegan, whose attempt at a sensual samba failed to impress the judges Monday night, felt the heat as well.
"I came too far in this competition to leave now," he quipped.
Ad luckily for the goofball actor, Goodman and Bruno Tonioli outvoted Carrie Ann Inaba and saved him, so he won't be saying goodbye just yet.
