Robin Gibb performs live during a concert at the Stadtwerkefestival in Potsdam, Germany last year.
Bee Gees star Robin Gibb whose most famous song is Stayin Alive is talking to family members who are at his bedside, docto rs said Sunday.
Robin is fully conscious, lucid and able to speak to his loved ones, they said in a statement.
Gibb, 62, has advanced colorectal cancer, and his condition remains extremely grave.
Dr. Andrew Thillainayagam said Gibb fell into a coma last week after catching pneumonia because he was weakened from chemotherapy and two operations.
Thillainayagam said he had warned Gibbs family that he might never wake up.
It is testament to Robin's extraordinary courage, iron will and deep reserves of physical strength that he has overcome quite incredible odds to get where he is now, Thillainayagam said.
