Its been back to nature for celebs for years when it comes to naming their babies.

Reality show staple Nicole Richie says her inspiration for naming her 2-year-old Sparrow comes from spiritual symbolism.

Theyre seen as light, one with the sky and nature and in a more uplifting, positive way than other animals, she says of the small brown birds.

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, on the other hand, chose cutesy Apple for her firstborn based on little else than how it sounds.

We heard Chris manager had named his daughter Apple, and we asked his permission to use it, she said of her hubby, Chris Martin, and his band, Coldplay.
