The Nachos Con Carne at 5 Burro Cafe in Forest Hills
5 BURRO CAFE
7205 Austin St., Queens.
(718) 544-2984
Its easy to be distracted with this Mexican eaterys expansive, authentic menu (and enticing cocktail list) but dont miss out on their nachos, which come six different ways. The regular ($ 8) or the chicken ($ 10) will do the trick, but the real showstoppers are the nachos con carne ($ 14) served as above with skirt steak or ground beef. The favorites of the staff, and Forest Hills locals who consider 5 Burro their go-to Mexican joint, the nachose con carne's deliciously seasoned meats (the steak is perfectly charred, the ground meat, a bit spicy) sit atop nicely cheesed chips, which are smothered in beans. The guac and sour cream come on the side, as do jalapeo peppers.
CALEXICO
645 Manhattan Ave., Brooklyn
(347) 763-2129
The guys known for their taco trucks (one on Prince St. and Wooster and one in Worth Square) now have a taqueria in Red Hook and a restaurant in Greenpoint, where they serve up some of the tastiest nachos this side of the border. The $ 9 presentation looks almost too good to eat, but dig in to find a perfect combo of roasted sweet corn, jack cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, and black beans topped with crema. We suggest you check out the airy, California style eatery during happy hour, when there are two-fo r-one house margaritas and draft beers every weekday from 4 to 6 p.m., and again from midnight to 1 a.m.
COPPELIA
207 W. 14th St.
(212) 858-5001
Chef Julian Medina takes nachos to another level at Coppelia, his Cuban-influenced, diner-style eatery on W. 14th St. Served with Chihuaha cheese, black beans, jalapeo, and the kicker beef short ribs Medinas $ 8.95 combo is a nacho lover's dream. Grab a table in one of the front windows, or sit at the bar to enjoy your nachos with one of the venues signature cocktails, like Mojito Classic or Margarita Cubana.

Nachos Locos at Garcias Mexican Cafe in Forest Hills has a little bit of everything. Combining traditional Mexican flavors with a modern twist. Always leaves me wowed! Lisa S.
Panini Grille in Staten Island. They have what they call Nachos Italiano! They make their own nachos and the toppings are absolutely delicious. In cluded in the toppings are pieces of Italian pork sausage, topped with Asiago cheese that give the nachos a special taste. Definitely worth a try! Martha P.
Please go to Wheelers restaurant on Sheepshead Bay Road in Brooklyn; its very well known for their Buffalo wings but they make the best nachos its on the menu as Nacho Supreme. Its awesome. They are open late and the price is right. Christopher Smyth
