Battlefield 3 won critical acclaim from both hardcore gaming nuts and critics alike, and with the launch of Battlefield 4 officially confirmed by EA exec Frank Gibeau in November last year now on the drawing board, chances are well be seeing some spectacular come launch date.
But what exactly? Here are the latest rumours...
Battlefield 4: Release date
During a keynote speech at the University of Southern California in November last year, EA exec Frank Gibeau confirmed the release of a Battlefield 3 sequel, simply by saying: There is going to be a Battlefield 4, just two weeks after the launch of Ba ttlefield 3, the Metro reports.
Despite confirming that Battlefield 4 would indeed be made, Gibeau failed to shed any further light on the title.
However, with a six year gap between Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 3, chances are we wont be seeing it on shelves any time soon.
Battlefield 3 arrived to much fanfare when it launched back in October last year, selling 5m units in its first week alone.
However, it failed to beat off stiff competition from the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which sold a whopping 12m copies in its opening week.
Battlefield 4: Trailer
The official trailer for Battlefield 3 was released by DICE and EA a month prior to the first-person shooters official launch.
Were guessing that this could also be the case when the games giants begin their PR drive to create buzz around the game.
