Gavin DeGraws soulful voice didnt help with his clumsy footwork on this season of Dancing With the Stars, and the Chariot singer was sent packing just five weeks into the competition.
Its been amazing just being part of this show, especially for my family, the affable contestant said upon his dismissal. We reunited in a lot of ways.
Just moments earlier, DeGraw performed in the shows newest twist, the dance duel, which had him facing off against Jaleel White in a Cha-Cha showdown to Lady Gagas The Edge of Glory.
The three judges unanimously voted for Whites rousing performance, though they applauded DeGraws efforts and energy.
The singer has been a low-scorer throughout the season, and on Monday night, he reeled in two 6s and a 7 while his peers were raking in 9s and 10s.
Earlier in the night, DeGraw was self-deprecating when asked by host Brooke Burke whether he thought he and partner Karina Smirnoff would be safe to dance another week.
That would be quite an escape, he grinned of the prospect. Were experiencing an Alcatraz moment right now, a lot of water and a lot of sharks.
So hopefully someone will let us on their boat.
No such luck this time, Gavin. That ship has sailed.
