Jazlyn Gonzalez, 9, Maria Gonzalez and her niece Naily Rosario all died in the crash.
Mourners for three generations of a family killed in a devastating car crash wept openly at a Bronx funeral Friday morning.
Im still in a fog about this, said Fernando Bonilla, 51, who worked with two sisters killed in Sundays death plunge at the Bronx Zoo.
They will be missed, he said. They were the most beautiful people in the world. They were the best.
Family and friends began lining up Friday morning outside St. Raymonds Church for the farewell to the seven victims of the Bronx River Parkway wreck.
Killed in the devastating Sunday crash were Jacob Nunez, 84, and his wife Ana Julia, 80; their daughters, Maria Gonzalez, 45, and Maria Rosario, 39; and three granddaughters Jazlyn Gonzalez, 9, Naily Rosario, 7, and Marlyn Rosario, 3.
The family, most dressed in black and wearing sunglasses, arrived in a fleet of taxis and cars as seven hearses two white and five black stationed themselves outside the church.
A large group of relatives entered the jam-packed sanctuary, with many of the women weeping as they walked. Pallbearers carried the white coffins with golden trim inside the church.
Collette Dickinson, 47, brought her daughter to march in the funeral procession. Little Thalani, 7, attended school with one of the dead girls.
I dont know how to take it, the weeping mom said through tears. Its hard to comprehend. Its very, very sad.
The crowd inside the church included some strangers who were moved by the familys plight.
Ive never seen anything like this, said Alica Small, 70, of Parkchester. I really feel for them. Its very sad.
