Darkening sky has religious overtones for a frightened dreamer.
SUDDEN DARKNESS BRINGS FEAR AND CHAOS
I dreamt the day turned dark. There was chaos, screaming. A blood-red light covered the sky as a bright light came down near me in the shape of a cross. Then the bright light became a big, tall human being. I was afraid, but a voice said, Go in the hut and youll know whats happening around you. I went inside and opened a rotting box containing a Bible. I hugged it and all was silent. Please interpret this dream.

Analysis: Dreams of darkness and chaos reveal inner turmoil. Similarly, screams are symbolic of the wish to cry out and be heard. The cross of light is a sign of the illumination gained through religious belief. It represents your need for hope and clarification in a bleak time. There is also the wish for transformation the light becomes human. The rotting box is a sign of inner dissipation. To achieve peace, you must embrace the faith within you.
AFTER A BAD BREAKUP COMES A BAD HAIRCUT
Im a great admirer of your column! Last night I dreamt about a man I was in love with for many years. Our relationship didnt end well and Im still hurt by it. In the dream, he was cutting his current girlfriends hair. They were facing me and I saw that the man I used to be with was cutting her hair very short with jagged bangs in a most unattractive, unflattering way. What does this mean?
Gina S., Manhattan
Analysis: Your dream reveals the dynamic of your former love relationship with your ex. Just so you know, youre the one getting the bad haircut. In this perspective, you are the passive, trusting girlfriend with your head in his hands, so to speak, at the mercy of his scissors! Your cut hair is a symbol of loss and powerlessness; it reveals all that you were willing to give up for him. But the scissors may be cutting more than hair; they may be severing the remaining emotional ties with your ex now that you see him as thoughtless and unkind.
