At least one person was arrested and dozens of windows were broken during a large protest march Monday night in San Francisco, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Associated Press reports that it is not clear whether the protest was connected to May Day events planned today by the Occupy movement in the Bay Area and in several cities nationwide.
The Chronicle says protesters marched from Dolores Park and vandalized parts of the Mission District, including the local police station. Windows were spattered with pain and food and windshields were shattered on some vehicles.
The newspaper says more than a dozen offices lined up to guard the Mission Station police department after the attack.
The protesters then moved on and broke up shortly afterward, according to police, the newspaper says.
