‘The Avengers’ Tom Hiddleston good at ev...

Among the dozens of fans crammed in the barricades hoping for a glimpse of the stars of The Avengers at Saturday nights Tribeca Film Festival screening, there wasnt a single Thor, Hulk or Captain America placard to be seen.

There were, however, several signs pledging loyalty to Tom Hiddlestons Loki the movies villain including one proclaiming, Loki Is My King.

Its good to be bad.

Its a huge honor for me, it really is, especially as a stranger in a foreign land, a Londoner like me, Im on distant shores here, says Hiddleston.

Once in a while, however, his mischievous streak does poke through like when he talks about filming the fight sequence between Loki and Captain America set outside the Stuttgart, Germany, opera house.

It was a great scene to play, because Loki is so arrogant and vain and pompous and Captain America is such a humble hero, says the 31-year-old Eton-educated actor.

But Loki is a god and Captain America is a man, so theyre completely unevenly matched, which meant when we were choreographing it, none of Captain Americas punches were landing, but all of Lokis are.

Basically it was kind of fun kicking the crap out of Chris Evans.

After all the training he endured for The Avengers, Hiddleston probably could kick the butts of the entire cast if he wasnt such a nice guy.

He would get up at 4 a.m., run for 40 minutes and do circuit training. Hiddleston filmed his fight scenes in the summer heat while wearing a metal and leather costume that weighed 40 pounds.

No wonder Loki is so angry.

Theres a reason, though, that the fans outside the barricades gravitated towards Loki, despite his nefarious schemes.

Hes really a misunderstood kind of lonely, lost, damaged child, says Hiddleston.
