The UK has jumped on the iPad 4G bashing bandwagon with regulator, the Advertising Standards Authority set to investigate the Cupertino based company following a number of complaints.
Whilst the third-generation Apple tablet is capable of supporting 4G connections in the companys native America, Apple has advertised the network tethered iPad as 4G compatible in the UK, a country where 4G networks are not yet widely available and which will not support the iPads systems when 4G is finally introduced.
Having already looked into a number of complaints against Apples 4G iPad claims the Advertising Standards Authority is seemingly set widen its investigations with the BBC reporting that the regulator has received a letter stating Apple have advised us that no further reference to the 4G capabilities of the iPad will be made on their UK website".
With the 3G capable tablet still listed as the Apple iPad 4G on Apples official UK website and store UK regulators looks set to following their Australian counterparts in attempting to have the market leading tablets name amended to replicate its location based capabilities.
Whilst Australia has existing 4G networks, the iPad is not capable of working on the nations spectrums. Apple has issued refunds to Aussie new iPad 4G owners who are disgruntled with the advertising oversight.
