4 teens busted in L.I. house burglaries

Four teenagers have been arrested for a string of Long Island home burglaries, police said.

The three young men and one woman were picked up Wednesday afternoon after committing their latest break-in in East Setauket shortly after noon, authorities said.

Suffolk County detectives stopped three of the suspects in a car on Black Locust Ave. and the fourth was found hiding in a shed behind a home on Partridge Lane.

Police believe the group may have committed crimes dating back to Feb. 21 in the Sixth Precinct.

Darnell Loften, 19, has been charged with six burglaries, Sion Sosa, 17, is accused of five burglaries and Colleen Elam, 18, and Maurice Jones, 18, have each been charged with four. All have also been charged with possession of burglars tools.

They were awaiting arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
