Emily Maynard and daughter Ricki (l.) are currently traveling the world on this season of 'The Bachelorette.'
Could it be that Emily Maynard has just as much drama off-screen as she does on?
The latest "Bachelorette" star has raised a few eyebrows this season by involving young daughter Ricki on the reality dating show, but now, according to Us Weekly, she and Ricki's grandparents aren't speaking altogether.
"When Emily went on 'The Bachelor,' they weren't pleased, but they supported her," a source tells the magazine. Now, the source says, they're "livid" that she's giving the reality show another whirl.
"Now they're not speaking," the source says. "They don't want their grandchild in the spotlight. They are private people."
Maynard was previously engaged to their son Ricky Hendrick, a race car driver who tragically died in a plane crash when she was pregnant with Ricki, now 6.
Not that the 26-year-old single mom hasn't tried to do her best to appease the Hendricks and look out for Ricki, however.
She insisted that the season be shot in her hometown of Charlotte, NC instead of in the regular "Bachelor" pad out in Los Angeles so that Ricki could continue to go to school.
"They didn't want Ricki uprooted," the source explained. "They also wanted Ricki kept out of the spotlight, not exploited."
